Casa de Sa~o Lourenc¸o - Burel Panorama Hotel, opened in 2018 and is the new and only 5-star Mountain hotel in Portugal, at 1250 m of altitude. It has panoramic views of the Mountain, the Glacial Valley and the village of Manteigas. The property has 17 rooms and 4 suites, all different and panoramic. With an extreme comfort, decorated with burel and design pieces. The rooms have private balconies and access to a garden of autochthonous species. The restaurant has a full view of the mountain range across its large windows. The theme is Portuguese cuisine, where the freshness and seasonality of the mountain ingredients are privileged, seasoned with the innovation of the Chef, without losing their unique authenticity. Also has a set of vegan and vegetarian proposals. The indoor heated pool helps us immerse in the scenery while relaxing in the pure spring waters. It is connected to an outdoor pool, set in a garden overlooking the mountain. The Mountain Spa has signature treatments and rituals, where the pure mountain air and the beautiful scenery set the tone. The Wellness area has a Sauna and a Turkish Bath with a full view of the mountain and access to the garden. There are more than 250km of marked trekking and mountain biking trails from the hotel, which can be explored with or without a guide, to discover unexplored places, peaks, valleys, historic and mountain villages, a unique and diverse heritage that is well worth it to explore. In the summer, it is possible to dive in the pure warm waters of the lagoons very close to the hotel, explore them on a kayak, and discover the rivers that begin their journey down the mountain. The unit offers daily guided tours to Burel Factory, a heritage wool factory, where 19th century looms produce woolen products, blankets and burel, a typical Portuguese fabric whose references go back to the 11th century. Four kilometers from the hotel, you will find Casa das Penhas Douradas - Burel Expedition Hotel, its older brother.
